IIFL Capital Services Limited announced on October 28, 2026 that Vasudev Jagannath has been appointed as an Additional Director and Whole-time Director (Key Managerial Personnel) for a period of three years, subject to the requisite approvals from shareholders and regulators. In a move aimed at a smooth leadership transition, the board has also approved the re-designation of Vasudev Jagannath as Managing Director, effective January 1, 2027, for three years, again subject to the necessary approvals. This leadership shift is intended to preserve continuity of the company’s strategic priorities, with R. Venkataraman continuing to serve on the Board.
Jagannath’s profile positions him at the helm of IIFL’s leadership: he is currently the Head of Institutional Equities at IIFL and brings nearly two decades of experience in the capital markets. His journey includes starting with CLSA in 1996 on the Sales Trading desk, moving to its New York Research Sales desk, and later serving as Head of Sales at CLSA before joining IIFL. He holds a degree in Computer Engineering from Mumbai University, an MBA from IIM Calcutta, and is a CFA charterholder.
As IIFL enters its next phase of growth, the board’s decision underscores a concerted emphasis on continuity at the top and alignment with the company’s strategic and business priorities. The appointment and forthcoming MD designation reflect a deliberate succession plan designed to sustain momentum while navigating a dynamic market landscape.
