GMR Airports announces executive-level leadership change as Alexis Riols resigns as Executive Director & Deputy CEO, remains on board as Non-Executive Director

GMR Airports Limited has disclosed a leadership shift involving Alexis Benjamin Riols. Riols has resigned from his roles as Executive Director and Deputy CEO, while continuing to serve on the board as a Non-Executive Director. The move comes as Group ADP, the co-promoter of the company, effectuates organizational changes and withdraws Riols’ nomination for the Deputy CEO and Executive Director posts. A replacement for Riols has been nominated by Group ADP and will be taken up for approvals in due course and intimated separately. The company has formally accepted Riols’ resignation letter, dated October 8, 2026.

In a note accompanying the disclosure, GMR Airports emphasised that Riols will remain on the Board as a Non-Executive Director, providing continuity in governance even as the executive leadership undergoes transition. The development underscores the ongoing governance evolution within the company’s promoter-led structure, with Group ADP steering the next steps for leadership alignment.

As the market watches the succession process, the emphasis will be on how the new arrangement fits the airline-and-infrastructure group’s strategic priorities for growth and operational stability. The company secretary, T. Venkat Ramana, signalled that further details on the replacement and the formal approvals will be communicated in due course, signaling a measured and orderly transition at the top end of the organization.
