Urja Global CEO Amitav Roy resigns; leadership transition underway

Urja Global Limited said on September 24, 2026, that Amitav Roy has tendered his resignation from the position of Chief Executive Officer and Key Managerial Personnel, with effect from September 25, 2026, citing personal reasons.

Accompanying the notice were details of the leadership change and disclosures, including an annexure that outlines the date and terms of the transition. The company has noted Roy’s tenure and the formal steps surrounding his exit as it prepares for a leadership handover.

Roy’s resignation email, dated September 24, 2026, requests an immediate settlement of his earned salary for the seven days worked in September 2026, and that his name be removed from the Urja Global portal with a formal relieving letter issued once salary credit is confirmed. He also states that all company assets—office workstation, laptop, cell phone, and charger—have already been handed back to the company.

Adding context to the transition, Urja Global’s Managing Director Mohan Jagdish Agarwal signed the communication. The company now faces the task of steering a smooth leadership transition and identifying a successor to lead the business forward.
