IFB Agro appoints two Executive Directors: Rahul Choudhary as ED–Finance and CFO; Santanu Ghosh as ED–Operations and CEO, Distillery

In a move aimed at sharpening both financial leadership and operational focus, IFB Agro Industries Limited announced at its 44th Annual General Meeting that two longtime insiders have been elevated to Executive Directors. Rahul Choudhary will assume the role of Executive Director – Finance, Strategy & Acquisition and Chief Financial Officer, effective 28 May 2026, for a five-year term. Santanu Ghosh will become Executive Director – Operations and Chief Executive Officer, Distillery Business, effective 28 May 2026, for a three-year term. The appointments come as the company signals a disciplined push to align capital strategy with production excellence and a strengthened go-to-market framework, underlining a concerted leadership realignment at the top table.

Rahul Choudhary is a Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant and Company Secretary with more than three decades in finance, banking, taxation and M&A. He has been the financial backbone of IFB Agro, serving as Chief Financial Officer since 2017 after earlier stints with Usha Martin Group and IFB Industries. By elevating him to ED–Finance, Strategy & Acquisition, the board appears to bet on a leader who can couple financial stewardship with strategic growth initiatives, including acquisitions and capital allocation decisions that could help sustain the company’s expansion plan.

Santanu Ghosh, 63, brings a deep operations pedigree to the new post of Executive Director – Operations and CEO of the Distillery Business. He holds an MSc in Biochemistry from Calcutta University and has completed a leadership certification program at ISB Hyderabad, along with DuPont’s Process Safety Management training. Ghosh joined IFB Agro in 1988 as a Trainee Chemist and has spent 37 years refining distillery operations and related by-products. His appointment signals a continuity-driven emphasis on operational excellence and process integrity as the company navigates growth in its core distillery segment.

Both moves are subject to shareholder approval at the ensuing AGM, and the company asserts that the appointments comply with applicable governance requirements. Taken together, the appointments position IFB Agro to leverage seasoned financial leadership and hands-on operational stewardship as it pursues its strategic agenda.
