UTI Asset Management Company Limited is initiating a leadership transition that marks a notable shift in its boardroom. Deepak Kumar Chatterjee will complete his second term as Non-Executive Independent Director and will cease to be the Board Chair and a member of multiple committees with effect from the close of business on 28 July 2026. The company acknowledged his valuable contributions during his association, underscoring the impact of his stewardship on governance and risk oversight.
In a meeting held on 22 July 2026, the Board selected P. V. Bharathi, an Independent Director, as Chairperson of the Board, effective 29 July 2026. Bharathi brings a deep reservoir of banking experience, spanning more than three decades, with senior leadership roles including Executive Director (WTD) at Canara Bank and MD & CEO at Corporation Bank. Her broad exposure to risk management, international operations, and governance positions her to steer the board through the next phase of UTI AMC’s strategic agenda.
The transition reflects a careful handover within the governance ranks, aligning seasoned governance and risk-management perspectives with the company’s evolving needs. Bharathi’s appointment is positioned to complement the ongoing work of the board, while the exit of Chatterjee closes a chapter of stable leadership and fiduciary guidance for the institution’s stakeholders.
UTI Asset Management Company Limited continues its operations with a renewed leadership slate and a focus on sustaining governance standards as it navigates the competitive landscape of asset management and mutual funds.
