Chalet Hotels appoints Gautam Mehra as Independent Director to strengthen board governance

Chalet Hotels Limited has announced the appointment of Gautam Mehra as an Additional and Independent Director, effective July 17, 2026. The appointment, approved by the Board on the same date, is for a five-year term running from July 17, 2026 to July 16, 2031, and remains subject to the approval of the company’s members. This move reinforces Chalet Hotels’ governance framework as it continues to expand its board with seasoned governance and strategic expertise.

Mr. Mehra brings four decades of experience across advisory and leadership roles in professional services and finance. In a career spanning more than two decades with PwC, he led the India Tax and Regulatory practice and the Asset Management Sector, contributed to core leadership initiatives, and stewarded global client relationships. He has advised funds investing in India and worked with multinational corporations, Indian business groups, and families on investments, transformation, acquisitions, and succession planning. His broader governance and regulatory experience include advocacy on India’s regulatory and tax landscape through engagement with regulators and industry bodies.

Currently a Corporate Advisor and Independent Board Member, Mr. Mehra serves on committees formed by the Securities and Exchange Board of India and has participated on boards and committees of leading industry organizations such as APREA, CII, Amcham India, and ICAI. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and lawyer, and also a Certified Coach who has completed executive education at Harvard Business School and INSEAD. Chalet Hotels highlighted that Mr. Mehra’s appointment complements its strategic focus on robust governance and informed decision-making as the company pursues its growth trajectory.
