NLC India Limited has announced the appointment of Poonam Chandrakar as a Non-Executive Independent Director on its Board, with effect from July 16, 2026, for a term of three years or until further orders. The appointment comes at a time when the company is strengthening its governance framework with seasoned professionals joining the top decision-making layer.
Chandrakar is described as an experienced public administrator with more than two decades of expertise in governance, public administration, and policy implementation. He has held leadership roles in public service, contributing to administrative reforms, infrastructure development, and stakeholder engagement across diverse sectors, including power, mining, and public administration. His background positions him to offer a governance-oriented perspective to the board as NLC India navigates its strategic priorities.
Education and credentials cited along with the appointment include a Bachelor’s degree in Arts from Kakatiya University, Warangal, and a Diploma in Marketing Management from IGNOU. He has also completed courses in Journalism and Arogya Ratna, underscoring a breadth of knowledge applicable to institutional management, policy execution, and strategic decision-making. The company notes that Chandrakar is not related to any of the existing directors and is not debarred from holding the office of director by any order.
