Indo Amines Limited has announced the appointment of Rahul Chitnis as an Additional Independent Director, with effect from July 15, 2026 for a one-year term, subject to the approval of shareholders. The decision was taken by the Board via circular resolution on July 11, 2026, following a recommendation from the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, and will run through July 14, 2027 unless extended by the shareholders.
Rahul Chitnis is described as a distinguished legal professional with more than three decades of experience spanning constitutional, commercial, corporate, arbitration, intellectual property, banking and criminal law. He is currently a partner at Chitnis Desai LLP and has served as A-2 Panel Counsel and as In-Charge Chief Standing Counsel for the State of Maharashtra before the Supreme Court of India. An alumnus of Government Law College, Mumbai, and King’s College London (LL.M. in Business International Law), Mr. Chitnis has represented clients in landmark matters before the Supreme Court, the Bombay High Court and a range of arbitral tribunals. His profile highlights include work on constitutional questions, company law disputes, the Dabhol Power Project, major commercial arbitrations and notable criminal matters. He has also been active as an arbitrator in commercial disputes since 2003 and has contributed to legal education as a Visiting Faculty at Jindal Global Law School.
