Sukhjit Starch & Chemicals strengthens board with MD re-appointment and two independent directors

Sukhjit Starch & Chemicals Limited has unveiled a multi-pronged refresh of its board, signaling a blend of continuity and governance depth as it moves toward its next growth phase. The company has announced the re-appointment of Kuldip Krishan Sardana as Managing Director, a position he has held and will continue to hold, with the term aligned to the company’s rotation and statutory norms. The move underscores leadership continuity at the top, with Sardana set to serve beyond the current term ending in 2028, subject to the routine approvals at the ensuing Annual General Meeting.

Alongside the MD’s re-appointment, the board will welcome two independent voices and a non-executive director to renew its governance mix. Anil Sikka is proposed to join as a Non-Executive Independent Director from 26 August 2026, with a five-year term through 25 August 2031. Sikka brings a rich background in operations, manufacturing, and strategic transformation, most recently as a Senior Advisor to McKinsey & Co Inc. His appointment is expected to add seasoned oversight and strategic rigor to the board’s deliberations.

Sanjeev Kumar is also slated to join as a Non-Executive Independent Director from 26 August 2026 for a five-year tenure (to 25 August 2031). Kumar, a veteran electrical engineer with three decades at PSPCL (Punjab State Power Corporation Limited), brings deep technical and regulatory perspectives to the board. In addition, Shalini Umesh Chablani will be re-appointed as a Non-Executive Director from 1 September 2026 for a three-year term (to 31 August 2029), reinforcing the board’s non-executive representation. Together, the cohort aims to bolster accountability, transparency, and strategic execution as the company pursues its long-term objectives.
