Fertilizers and Chemicals Travancore Limited (FACT) has appointed Niranjan Suryabhan Sonak as the Director (Marketing) on an interim basis. The arrangement, effective 6 July 2026, entitles Sonak to assume charge for three months or until the regular incumbent joins, or until further orders, subject to the approval of the Appointments of Cabinet Committee (ACC). The move follows a government directive from the Department of Fertilizers, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, entrusting the additional charge of the Marketing portfolio to Sonak, who is currently Director (Marketing) at Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited (RCFL).
Sonak brings a blend of technical and managerial credentials to FACT. He holds a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering, a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management (PGDMM), and is a Certified Energy Manager accredited by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Government of India. This background signals a focus on both market strategy and energy efficiency as FACT navigates today’s fertilizer landscape.
The appointment underscores the government’s emphasis on leadership continuity within key state-linked players in the fertilizer sector. By drawing on senior marketing leadership from RCFL, FACT aims to ensure a steady hand at the helm of its marketing operations while the organization aligns leadership succession with broader policy directions.
