CMPDI Elevates Three Senior Managers to Senior Management Roles in Internal Leadership Shuffle

CMPDI, the mining planning and design arm under Coal India, has announced a leadership reshuffle with three Senior Management Personnel elevated to Senior Management Personnel roles, signaling a steady rhythm of internal succession designed to sustain its long-running mining agenda.

Sudhanshu Mishra is appointed as SMP upon assuming charge as Head of Department Geomatics, succeeding Mohit Rastogi who superannuates on July 1, 2026. A CMPDI veteran since 1994, Mishra currently serves as General Manager (Mining) and Head of Geomatics, bringing more than three decades of mining-sector experience and prior leadership stints at Regional Institute-IV and Regional Institute-V to the role.

Sunil Manohar Bhaskar steps up as SMP upon taking charge as HoD TE&CM, following the superannuation of Barun Kumar Gupta from July 1, 2026. Bhaskar, CMPDI’s Senior Manager (Civil) and Head of Department TE&CM at CMPDI (HQ), Ranchi, joined CMPDI in 2026 after a stint with Central Coalfields Limited. He holds a B.Sc. Engineering (Civil) from Tilka Manjhi University, Bhagalpur, and has led infrastructure projects, rehabilitation and resettlement efforts for mine expansions, and railway-related coal-evacuation initiatives.

Punam Singh is appointed as SMP upon assuming charge as HoD Environment, succeeding Vinod Kumar Pandey from July 1, 2026. Singh, General Manager (Environment) and Head of Department (Environment) at CMPDI, has been with the company since 1991, bringing more than 30 years of experience in environmental management. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Bihar Institute of Technology, Sindri, and has overseen critical environmental management programs within CMPDI.

This trio of internal promotions underscores CMPDI’s emphasis on continuity and deep-domain expertise as it advances key departments—Geomatics, TE&CM, and Environment—to the forefront of its mining planning and project execution agenda.
