In a move that underscores UNO Minda Limited’s push to deepen its leadership in the light metal and powertrain systems (LPS) domain, the board has approved the appointment of Vivek Shripad Joshi as Chief Executive Officer – LPS Domain, effective 19 April 2026. The leadership transition is being staged to ensure continuity: the current CEO-LPS Domain, Kundan Kumar Jha, will front-end operations for the first three months to enable a smooth handover, after which Joshi will assume full accountability for domain performance and delivery of key KPIs.
Joshi arrives at UNO Minda with a track record as a seasoned automotive leader, described as delivering sustained growth and large-scale transformations in global manufacturing. His profile highlights a focus on lean, green, and connected manufacturing anchored in Total Quality Management, with leadership stints at Sundaram Clayton Limited, Ryobi Die Casting (USA), Endurance Technologies, and Jayahind Industries. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Metallurgy from the College of Engineering, Pune; a Master of Science in Industrial & Systems Engineering from The Ohio State University; and an MBA from Indiana Tech University, alongside a Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
The transition, carefully structured and collaborative, is designed to preserve continuity for the LPS Domain while positioning Joshi to lead with an eye on long-term value creation. As he steps into the helm, Jha will continue to contribute in a strategic capacity, aligning responsibilities and focusing on areas critical to sustaining momentum. UNO Minda’s leadership calculus appears intent on blending established operational strength with fresh strategic leadership to navigate the evolving automotive components landscape.
