Punjab National Bank has announced a leadership move in its senior management, naming Mousumi Majumdar as the new Group Chief Risk Officer, effective 15 April 2026. The appointment marks a significant elevation in the bank’s risk governance framework as it continues to sharpen its focus on risk oversight at the highest levels of decision-making.
Majumdar is currently the Chief General Manager of the Credit Review and Monitoring Division at PNB’s Head Office. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB). With more than three decades of banking experience, she brings a deep background in credit review, risk assessment, and governance to her new role as Group Chief Risk Officer.
The internal move signals PNB’s preference for continuity and deep institutional knowledge in its risk functions. As banks face an evolving regulatory and market environment, Majumdar’s appointment could help strengthen the bank’s risk framework from the executive echelon, aligning risk strategy with the lender’s broader growth and resilience agenda.
