Coforge taps Vivek Sharma as Independent Director to steer AI-forward governance

In a bid to sharpen its governance and accelerate its AI-forward ambitions, Coforge Limited said the Board has approved the appointment of Vivek Sharma as an Additional Director and Non-Executive Independent Director, to hold office for five years from April 1, 2026, subject to shareholders’ approval. The move, approved on March 27, 2026, signals Coforge’s intent to bring an external, strategy-rich perspective to its leadership as it scales its technology-led growth agenda.

Vivek Sharma arrives with a rare blend of leadership in AI, data science and digital platforms. He serves on the boards of Kaiser Permanente and JetBlue Airways and is an adjunct professor of data science at the University of Southern California. His background spans stints at InStride—where he was CEO and co-founder and helped scale the edtech company to about 200 employees, forged partnerships with dozens of major corporations, and led efforts that reportedly saved students hundreds of millions in potential debt—alongside senior roles at The Walt Disney Company as Senior Vice President of Digital Guest Experience & E-commerce, overseeing a multibillion-dollar online business, and leadership positions at Yahoo and McKinsey & Company. Sharma also contributes as an AI advisor to private equity and startups and is a published author and commentator on governance and technology.

Disclosures note that Mr. Sharma is not related to any of Coforge’s directors, underscoring the independent status of the appointment. The coming years will be watched for how his cross-industry experience—especially in AI strategy, digital transformation and scalable platform businesses—shapes Coforge’s client offerings and governance as the company navigates an increasingly AI-enabled tech-services landscape.

As Coforge continues to position itself at the intersection of technology and growth, Sharma’s arrival reinforces a leadership ethos that values external insight, rigorous data-driven decision making, and strategic collaboration across sectors.
