BCCL reshuffles senior management with three internal moves across Bastacolla, Security and Industrial Engineering

BCCL announced a quiet but strategic reshuffle of its senior management, with three internal moves across its mining, security and engineering wings. The changes are effective March 11, 2026, and reflect the company’s emphasis on continuity and deep leadership depth as it navigates a challenging mining landscape.

Shailendra Kumar Gaikwad, currently General Manager (Mining), has been posted as General Manager (Bastacolla Area) in place of Hafizul Qurashi, and has now become a member of Senior Management Personnel. Gaikwad has three decades of coal mining experience, with a BE in Mining from Visvesvaraya Regional College of Engineering Nagpur, and has worked with SECL and ECL before returning to BCCL.

Md. Hafizul Qurashi, General Manager (Bastacolla Area), has been transferred to General Manager (Security) succeeding Mayuresh Ranjan Srivastava. Srivastava, who was General Manager (Security), has been shifted to General Manager (Industrial Engineering Department) in place of Arvind Kumar Sinha, who was handling the post on an additional basis. All three will remain in Senior Management Personnel of Bharat Coking Coal Limited.

Industry observers note that the moves signal an emphasis on integrating operational capability with security and engineering oversight, aiming to sustain safety, efficiency and project execution across BCCL’s key coal-producing regions.
