Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR), the government-owned multi-modal logistics player, has appointed Harbrinder Singh Bajwa as Director (Domestic Division) with additional charge, effective from 01.03.2026. The decision was taken at the Board meeting held on 06.03.2026, as the company strengthens its domestic footprint and accelerates rail-linked freight growth within its overall multimodal strategy.
Harbrinder Singh Bajwa is a 1996-batch officer of the Indian Railway Traffic Service. He currently serves as Executive Director (Freight Marketing) at the Ministry of Railways, where he oversees the parcel business and policy development related to freight terminals and private investment in wagons. His career with the Indian Railways spans about 30 years, including leadership roles such as heading Khurda Division of the East Coast Railway, and contributing to policy areas across the Ministry of Railways and the Ministry of Food & Public Distribution. His experience also extends to coal movement for the power sector and coordinating logistics for critical national initiatives.
Analysts view the appointment as a signal of strengthened alignment between CONCOR and Indian Railways, a combination well suited to push domestic container movements and the development of freight terminals that can move goods more efficiently across the country. Bajwa’s remit as Director (Domestic Division) — albeit with additional charge — positions CONCOR to intensify the domestic leg of its network, complementing its ongoing expansions in cross-border trade and private-sector collaboration in wagon investments and terminal infrastructure. The board had initially entrusted the charge to him pending formal approval, and today’s appointment formalizes that arrangement.
Other members of CONCOR’s board, including Sanjay Swarup as Chairman and Managing Director, continue to helm the organization alongside directors Ajit Kumar Panda, Anurag Kapil, Vijoy Kumar Singh, and various part-time directors from government and private sectors, reinforcing a leadership slate focused on integrating rail and container logistics across India’s supply chains.
