Sanofi India appoints Siraj Azmat Chaudhry as Independent Director

Sanofi India Limited’s board has approved the appointment of Siraj Azmat Chaudhry as an Additional Director and Independent Director, effective from 1 April 2026. The appointment is for a first term of five consecutive years ending 31 March 2031 and is subject to approval of the members at the 70th AGM. He will hold office as an Additional Director up to the date of the AGM.

Siraj Azmat Chaudhry, who holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) and a B.Com (Hons) from the University of Delhi, brings more than 35 years of experience, including two decades in leadership roles across the agriculture and food space. He previously served as Chairman of Cargill India (2008–2018), where he led the build-out and expansion of Cargill’s food business in India, steering a shift toward a recognized FMCG profile and growing the edible oils, flour, corn products and food ingredients portfolio to a multi-thousand-crore scale.

Today, Chaudhry serves as an Independent Director on the boards of Jubilant Ingrevia Ltd., Carrier Air Conditioning and Refrigeration India, Bikaji Foods International and Triveni Engineering and Industries Ltd. He has also participated in advisory capacities for organizations such as CDC Group (British International Investment) and AB InBev, and has been active in national industry bodies, including leadership roles in FICCI’s food processing and agriculture initiatives. His track record as a transformative leader and governance custodian is expected to bolster Sanofi India’s board as the company executes its strategic agenda in the Indian market.

The appointment underscores Sanofi India’s ongoing emphasis on robust governance and experienced leadership at the board level as it navigates growth opportunities and strengthens its presence in the region.
