Sigachi expands leadership slate with two new directors: an executive appointment and an independent director

Sigachi Industries Limited signaled a strategic leadership reshuffle on October 31, 2026, with the board approving two key appointments that widen both executive depth and board governance. The company said Mr. Awanindra Kumar Singh will be appointed as an Additional Whole-Time Director (Professional, Executive) for two consecutive years, effective from October 31, 2026, subject to the approval of the members. In parallel, Mr. Sridhara Narasimha Sastry was approved as an Additional Independent Director (Non-Executive) for a first term of two consecutive years, also from October 31, 2026, and pending member approval. The moves reflect Sigachi’s intent to bolster operational leadership while strengthening board oversight as it charts its growth path.

Mr. Awanindra Kumar Singh is described as a seasoned pharmaceutical professional with more than 35 years in manufacturing, operations, process improvement and product development. His background encompasses APIs, intermediates, sterile bulk APIs, cosmetic APIs, formulations, injectables, and pharmaceutical excipients, underpinned by an M.Sc in Organic Chemistry and a Master’s in Chemical Engineering. He is noted for leading greenfield and brownfield expansion projects, signaling a focus on scalable execution at Sigachi.

Mr. Sridhara Narasimha Sastry brings four decades of chemical industry leadership to Sigachi’s board. His most recent role was President & Unit Head (P&L) at Grasim Industries Limited, part of the Aditya Birla Group, with a track record spanning operations, technology, safety, sustainability and governance. He has also completed Harvard Business School’s Global Strategy Programme and is active as an executive coach, bringing a governance-oriented perspective and deep experience in capital projects and manufacturing excellence. The appointments are being undertaken through the Nomination and Remuneration Committee and are subject to share-holder approval via a postal ballot.

Together, the appointments signal Sigachi’s intent to blend seasoned governance with hands-on executive leadership as it pursues expansion and manufacturing milestones. With Singh stepping into an executive role and Sastry expanding the board’s independent oversight, Sigachi aims to sharpen its strategic execution while reinforcing accountability at the leadership level.
