HDB Financial Services Limited is reshaping its board with a trio of appointments and re-appointments announced on Thursday. The company said it will re-appoint Jayesh Chakravarthi as an Independent Director for five years, from January 25, 2027 to January 24, 2032, and Arundhati Mech as an Independent Director for three years, from February 11, 2027 to February 10, 2030. In addition, Jimmy Tata will join as an Additional (Non-Executive) Director, nominated by HDFC Bank Limited, for a period from October 22, 2026 to July 31, 2028.
Chakravarthi brings more than three decades in information technology, with leadership stints at Wipro, Sun Microsystems, MindTree and Fidelity Investments, and entrepreneurial depth as CEO and co-founder of Recast Technologies. Mech offers extensive experience in the finance sector, with a long career at RBI and governance roles across boards including Shivalik Small Finance Bank and Shrirm Trustees Limited, complementing the board’s oversight with regulatory and risk-awareness.
Tata’s appointment as a Nominee Director anchors HDB’s governance with a seasoned banking executive who has led risk and credit functions at HDFC Bank, and is already serving as a director with other financial entities. The moves come after the Nomination and Remuneration Committee’s recommendation and are subject to shareholder approval, signaling a planned continuity and refreshed expertise at the board level.
Taken together, the changes underscore HDB’s emphasis on governance and strategic guidance as it navigates a competitive financial services landscape, strengthening the interplay between technology, risk management, and financial discipline at the top.
