Whirlpool of India Announces Senior Management Changes, Appoints VP-Supply Chain and Internal Reassignments; Two Executives to Exit

Whirlpool of India Limited has outlined a wave of senior management movements, led by a fresh appointment aimed at strengthening its supply chain engine. Akash Mishra has been appointed as Head-Supply Chain and designated as VP-Supply Chain, effective October 22, 2026, reporting to the Managing Director. The company notes Mishra brings more than two decades of experience leading large-scale operations and digital transformations in supply planning and customer service, with stints at Pepsico, Reckitt Benckiser, and JSW Paints, and a track record of deploying Agentic AI, Robotic Process Automation, and touchless order processing architectures. He holds an MBA in Supply Chain Management from The Eli Broad Graduate School of Management, Michigan State University, and a B.Tech in Chemical Technology from Harcourt Butler Technological Institute.

In a related internal move, Chetan Shetty, the current Head of Supply Chain, moves to Factory Head-Puducherry and will report to the Head-Manufacturing, with effect from October 22, 2026. This transition marks a shift away from his Senior Management designation, reflecting Whirlpool’s ongoing internal realignment of leadership to localize and strengthen manufacturing leadership across its facilities.

The company also announced exits from its SMP team in two functions: Prafulla Kandpal, currently Head-Accounting, has tendered his resignation effective October 30, 2026, and Vijay Waghmore, currently Head-Taxation, has tendered his resignation effective November 13, 2026. The company will share details of successors in due course. These moves underscore Whirlpool India’s ongoing recalibration of its finance and tax leadership as it navigates a dynamic operating environment.

Taken together, the announcements signal Whirlpool India’s emphasis on bolstering its supply chain capabilities through a strategically positioned VP role, while continuing to optimize its manufacturing footprint and finance leadership to sustain growth and operational resilience.
