Shriram Properties Strengthens Board with Two Independent Directors: Revathy Iyer and R. Seetharaman

Shriram Properties Limited has quietly but decisively strengthened its board, appointing two seasoned independents to the helm as Non-Executive Independent Directors for a five-year term, effective October 22, 2026. The appointments, approved by the board on the same date, are subject to the shareholders’ approval, signaling the company’s continued emphasis on governance, oversight, and long-term strategic guidance.

Revathy Iyer brings a rare blend of public-sector stewardship and governance experience. A Master’s graduate in Chemistry, she has held senior watchdog and policy roles, including a stint as a Central Board Member of the Reserve Bank of India and as Deputy Comptroller & Auditor General for Government Accounts. Her career spans senior roles across budget, policy, and audit in the eastern and northern wings of government, underscoring a perspective on risk, accountability, and public financial management that Shriram Properties may find valuable in shaping its governance framework.

Dr. R. Seetharaman arrives with a global banking pedigree. Former CEO of Doha Bank (2007–2022), he has since devoted his efforts to sustainable development initiatives and social entrepreneurship, including a nonprofit and an education-focused foundation. He currently serves as an Independent Director on the board of L&T Finance Limited and is widely recognized for his leadership in finance, economics, and sustainability. His multi-doctorate scholarly profile and international exposure add a distinctive governance lens to the board’s deliberations.

Together, the appointments reflect Shriram Properties’ intent to bolster independent oversight and strategic governance as it navigates growth in a dynamic market. The company’s leadership is counting on these two directors to contribute to governance, risk oversight, and long-range strategy as it seeks to enhance value for shareholders and stakeholders alike.
