SG Mart appoints Jitendra Agarwal as Non-Executive Independent Director to bolster board governance

SG Mart Limited has appointed Jitendra Agarwal as an Additional Director (Non-Executive Independent Director), effective October 10, 2026, for a five-year term subject to shareholder approval. The move signals the company’s intent to strengthen its governance and independent oversight as it navigates a period of strategic growth.

Mr. Agarwal brings a deep reserve of audit and governance experience to the board. He spent 28 years as a partner with Deloitte Haskins & Sells and its network before superannuating in March 2026. A Fellow Chartered Accountant and Commerce (Hons) graduate, he has led audits for a range of marquee clients listed on Indian, US and UK stock exchanges, building a track record in financial reporting and risk management across complex regulatory environments.

Across his career, Agarwal has worked across diverse sectors—from autos and energy to renewables, IT, media and NBFCs—gaining broad exposure to financial controls, reporting standards (Indian GAAP, IFRS, US GAAP) and regulatory scrutiny. He has chaired and served on multiple governance and risk committees and contributed to the development of accounting and auditing standards in India, complementing SG Mart’s ongoing emphasis on disciplined oversight.

The board at SG Mart Limited, formerly Kintech Renewables, appears to be leaning into seasoned governance leadership as part of its strategic refresh. Agarwal’s background in high-stakes audits, combined with his experience overseeing financial processes and risk frameworks at Deloitte South Asia, positions him to bring an objective lens to financial stewardship and boardroom deliberations. His appointment will proceed to member approval, as the company continues to chart its next phase of growth.
