IndusInd Bank is pruning and recalibrating its leadership in the Global Markets Group, as Siddharth Banerjee steps down from his role as Head of Global Markets Group for personal reasons. The bank announced that Banerjee will relinquish his responsibilities with effect from March 23, 2026, and that Vasudeva Konda has been appointed to head the same Global Markets Group, also effective March 23, 2026. The shift signals a reshaping of senior leadership within a key function that drives the bank’s liquidity, trading and currency management across domestic and international operations.
Banerjee’s exit leaves the bank with an experienced executive at the helm of one of its most dynamic fronts. The bank noted the change in senior management in line with its governance framework, and stated that Konda’s appointment brings a wealth of hands-on expertise in markets, risk and liquidity management to the role.
Vasudeva Konda steps into the post after a long tenure at ICICI Bank, where he spent more than 26 years across Treasury, Risk and related domains. His background includes overseeing multicurrency balance sheets, liquidity, and trading, and leading fixed income, foreign exchange and money market activities, with a recent focus on Enterprise Risk analytics within a Basel/ICAAP framework. Konda holds an PGDM from IIM Calcutta and a B Tech in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Madras, grounding his move with a blend of financial markets prowess and risk-management leadership.
Industry observers will be watching how the new leadership aligns with IndusInd Bank’s strategy to deepen its markets franchise, enhance liquidity management and navigate the evolving global markets landscape. The announced transition underscores the ongoing recalibration of senior management as banks adapt to a shifting mix of opportunities and risks in the markets arena.
