Wipro Limited has appointed Laura Marie Miller as a Non-Executive Independent Director on its board, effective April 1, 2026, for a five-year term through March 31, 2031, subject to the company’s shareholders’ approval. The move signals a strategic emphasis on strengthening governance and oversight as Wipro continues to sharpen its focus on digital transformation, data strategy, and technology-enabled growth.
Ms. Miller brings more than two decades of executive leadership experience at the intersection of technology, data, and business resilience. Most recently, she served as Executive Vice President and Chief Information and Data Officer at Macy’s, where she led enterprise-scale technology, data, and AI initiatives. Her career has also included global leadership roles at InterContinental Hotels Group and First Data, and she has substantial board exposure from prior roles with EVO Payments and LGI Homes. In addition, she currently serves as a Non-Executive Director at NCR Voyix (chairing the Risk Committee and serving on the Audit Committee) and at Ahold Delhaize (chairing the Technology Committee and participating on the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee).
Analysts view the appointment as a signal that Wipro is aiming to fortify its digital prowess and governance DNA at the board level, drawing on Miller’s track record of steering large-scale technology modernization, cloud migrations, and AI-enabled transformations. While the formal nomination remains subject to member approval, the addition of an independent director with deep experience in tech-enabled consumer and retail ecosystems could help guide Wipro’s strategic priorities in an increasingly data-driven market.
