Agastya Energy and Infrastructure Limited has appointed Alok Jain as a Non-executive Independent Director, effective August 13, 2026, for a first term of five consecutive years ending August 12, 2031. The move strengthens the company’s governance framework as it progresses on its growth trajectory.
A Chartered Accountant with over 27 years of experience, Jain has built a broad portfolio across auditing, taxation, financial advisory, valuation, banking and NBFCs. His work spans public sector undertakings, banks, corporate and non-corporate entities across diverse sectors including power, real estate, telecom and manufacturing, equipping him with a deep perspective on financial discipline and strategic oversight.
The appointment signals the board’s intent to reinforce independent oversight and governance as the group, formerly Sanginita Chemicals, continues to reposition itself as Agastya Energy and Infrastructure. Jain’s background in corporate finance, governance, audits and risk management is expected to complement the board’s stewardship as the company navigates its next phase.
Notably, Jain is not related to any existing or proposed directors and is not debarred from holding office, reinforcing the independence of the new director on the board.
