Waaree Energies names Rathod as CEO as Amit Paithankar steps down; CFO transition and SMPs named

Waaree Energies has unveiled a leadership reshuffle, outlining a transition plan that places the focus on continuity and growth. The board has confirmed that Amit Ashok Paithankar will be relieved from his role as Whole-Time Director and Chief Executive Officer with effect from March 20, 2026, earlier than initially indicated. In a move designed to ensure a smooth handover, Jignesh Devchandbhai Rathod, who has been serving as CEO-designate, will assume the roles of Whole-Time Director and Chief Executive Officer from March 21, 2026, subject to shareholder approval.

Concurrently, the company announced a change in its financial leadership. Sonal Shrivastava will cease to hold the position of Chief Financial Officer from the close of business on March 20, 2026, having completed the requisite notice period. Abhishek Pareek, who is presently the Group Head Finance, has been approved to hold the office of Chief Financial Officer and Key Managerial Personnel with effect from March 21, 2026.

The board, based on recommendations from the Nomination and Remuneration Committee and the Audit Committee, also appointed two Senior Managerial Personnel. Munna Singh is named Deputy Chief Financial Officer, while Varun Goenka takes on the role of President – Growth & Strategy, both effective April 1, 2026. Rathod’s appointment follows his long association with Waaree since 2007, during which he has overseen factory operations; Pareek is recognized as a seasoned finance leader with a track record in treasury, fundraising, and capital markets; Munna Singh brings broad financial leadership experience; and Goenka’s background spans equity research and portfolio management.

Together, the changes signal Waaree Energies’ intent to fortify its executive bench as it pursues expansion and enhanced strategic focus in a competitive energy landscape. The company noted that the moves are subject to shareholder approvals where required and will be accompanied by the formal transition over the coming days.
