Jana Small Finance Bank Limited has announced the appointment of Malini B Mallikarjun as an Additional Director (Independent Director) of the bank, effective 20 March 2026, for a five-year term. The move marks a governance-focused strengthening of the bank’s board, adding a seasoned professional with deep expertise in regulatory frameworks, tax policy, and stakeholder engagement to help steer strategic decisions.
Mallikarjun brings more than three decades of experience across tax advisory and governance roles. Her career includes leadership positions as a partner at BMR Advisors and a director at Ernst & Young, along with a senior leadership role at the Piramal Foundation. She currently leads BhuSampada, a centre at the National Institute of Advanced Studies that works at the intersection of land governance and climate mitigation. Her multidisciplinary background—spanning indirect taxes, foreign trade, ESG frameworks, and regulatory navigation—positions her to contribute to board-level deliberations on compliance, risk oversight, and sustainable strategy.
Announcing the appointment, Jana Small Finance Bank noted that Mallikarjun is not related to any of the bank’s directors and is not debarred from holding directorships by SEBI or other regulatory authorities. With a profile anchored in complex governance and stakeholder coordination, she is expected to bolster the bank’s governance architecture as it pursues growth and prudent risk management in a dynamic regulatory environment.
