RITES appoints Prem Singh Meena as Director (Projects) as Deepak Tripathi relinquishes charge

RITES Limited has announced a leadership reshuffle that tightens the company’s project execution muscle for its rail-infrastructure agenda. The Ministry of Railways has approved the appointment of Prem Singh Meena as Director (Projects) of RITES Limited, with effect from the date he assumes charge until 30 June 2028 or until further orders. In a related move, the Board of Directors, at its meeting on March 19, 2026, designated Mr. Meena as an Additional Director and appointed him to the post of Director (Projects) from the date of his assumption of charge. Concurrently, Deepak Tripathi, who was serving as Director (Technical) and holding the additional charge of Director (Projects), relinquished that post, and Prem Singh Meena assumed the charge on March 19, 2026.

Prem Singh Meena is an IRSEE officer from the 1990 batch with more than 34 years of experience across traction distribution, rolling stock, electrical services under the Ministry of Railways, and rail infra and metro works under RITES. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from MNIT Jaipur, and has previously served as Executive Director (Rail Infra, Metro and Project Co-ordination) at RITES. His background includes leadership in railway electrification projects, new siding works, signaling projects, PMCs for metro developments, and business development for RITES. He has also participated in senior management programs at INSEAD, ICLIF and has international exposure through Heavy Haul training at Southwest Jiaotong University in Beijing. Notably, he serves as a Nominee Director on the Board of REMC Limited, a subsidiary of RITES.

The appointment signals a continuity-driven shift in RITES’s project leadership as the company positions itself to advance large-scale railway electrification, metro rail, signaling, and other critical rail projects. With Meena’s deep experience in rail infrastructure and project coordination, RITES aims to maintain momentum on its project portfolio while navigating the evolving needs of the Indian Railways ecosystem. The transition in charge from Deepak Tripathi to Prem Singh Meena marks a focused handover at a time when project delivery and execution excellence are increasingly central to the firm’s strategic ambitions.
