Carborundum Universal taps Sriram Seshadri as CFO, signaling sharpened finance leadership

Carborundum Universal Limited has named Sriram Seshadri as its Chief Financial Officer, effective September 7, 2026. Described by the board as a key executive appointment, Seshadri will also serve as a whole-time Key Managerial Personnel, underscoring the company’s emphasis on strengthened financial leadership and governance.

A seasoned finance professional with more than three decades in the automotive and industrial manufacturing sectors, Seshadri brings a track record of driving profitability and cash-flow improvements through strategic finance, business partnering, and governance initiatives. He most recently held the role of Vice President – Business Controller at Endurance Technologies. His prior positions include Chief Financial Officer at Woco India and Delphi TVS Technologies, and Director Finance at Tenneco India. He is a qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA, UK), Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA, USA), and the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI).

In his new role, Seshadri will spearhead core financial functions—from treasury and planning to ERP transformation and compliance—while aligning Carborundum’s financial strategy with its growth trajectory. The appointment comes after recommendations from the Nomination and Remuneration Committee and the Audit Committee and follows a thorough board review. For Carborundum, the move signals a renewed focus on disciplined financial management as it navigates market dynamics and contemplates future channels for value creation.
