Central Bank of India announced an internal leadership shift, promoting Jai Shankar Prasad to General Manager of the Customer Care Department, with effect from September 1, 2026. The move underscores the bank’s focus on strengthening frontline customer interactions as it navigates a competitive banking landscape.
Jai Shankar Prasad, aged 57, joined the bank in 1993. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF). Over more than three decades in banking, he has served in roles including Branch Head, Regional Head, and Zonal Head, and most recently was Deputy General Manager in the Customer Care Department (CCD).
Industry observers view the elevation as a signal of continuity in the bank’s customer-centric strategy. By promoting from within the CCD, Central Bank of India reinforces leadership focused on improving service delivery across branches and digital channels, aiming to enhance customer experience at every touchpoint.
The official communication confirming the appointment was signed by Chandrakant Bhagwat, Company Secretary and Compliance Officer, reflecting an orderly internal transition within the bank’s leadership ranks.
