Bank of Baroda is navigating a leadership transition in its technology function as its Chief Technology Officer, Saurabh Shukla, files for voluntary retirement. In a formal application under the bank’s Pension Regulations, Shukla has requested retirement effective 1 June 2026, with a proposed relieving date of 31 August 2026. The letter, dated 1 June 2026, reveals a personal decision after more than two decades with the lender.
Shukla’s tenure spans roles across Information Technology and Digital functions, where he contributed to the Bank’s modernization and transformation agenda. In his note, he expresses gratitude to the Board and the leadership team for the support and opportunities that helped him grow as a professional and leader, underscoring the “fulfilling and enriching” experience of serving through pivotal changes in the Bank’s tech landscape.
As the Bank marks this leadership transition, Shukla commits to ensuring a smooth handover and full cooperation through the transition period. His departure, while notable for the technology function, is framed as a continuation of Bank of Baroda’s ongoing modernization journey, with leadership continuity and a focus on sustaining momentum in IT and digital initiatives.
