Bhagyanagar India Limited to reappoint Managing Director Devendra Surana for a three-year term, subject to shareholder approval

Bhagyanagar India Limited signalled continuity at the top, with its board approving the reappointment of Managing Director Devendra Surana for a fresh three-year term beginning January 17, 2027, contingent on shareholder approval at the company’s 41st Annual General Meeting. The meeting, held on August 27, 2026, also set the AGM for September 30, 2026 at 11:00 IST, and laid out the framework for the voting process, including a cut-off date of September 23, 2026 for e-voting and book-closure from September 24 to September 30, 2026.

In addition to the MD reappointment, the board approved the notices for the AGM, appointed Rakhi Agarwal, Practicing Company Secretary, as Scrutinizer to oversee remote e-voting and AGM voting, and reaffirmed governance procedures in line with regulatory norms. The broader move underscores Bhagyanagar India Limited’s emphasis on leadership stability as it advances toward its next growth phase.

Devendra Surana’s appointment profile positions him as a long-time industry veteran. He is a Mechanical Engineer who holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. With more than four decades in ferrous and non-ferrous metals and telecom, and over 23 years in renewable energy, Surana has steered growth initiatives across multiple sectors. His leadership roles extend beyond the company, including past presidencies with FAPCCI, the Telangana State Council of FICCI, and Rotary Club of Hyderabad Deccan, reflecting a broad leadership footprint in the regional business community. As the company seeks shareholders’ approval, observers will be watching how this renewed mandate aligns Bhagyanagar India Limited with its strategic objectives.
