Torrent Power Limited has announced a leadership reshuffle in its finance function, confirming the retirement of Saurabh Mashruwala from the post of Chief Financial Officer and Whole Time Key Managerial Personnel. The board accepted Mashruwala’s resignation, effective at the close of business on August 20, 2026, with Mashruwala remaining with the group as Executive Director to oversee a smooth transition.
Vikas Poddar will assume the CFO role and functions as Key Managerial Personnel from August 21, 2026. Poddar brings more than 27 years of financial leadership experience to Torrent Power, including a recent stint as Chief Financial Officer at Indus Towers. His career has spanned finance leadership roles at Vodafone and ITC, and he holds an MBA from the National University of Singapore along with Chartered Accountant qualifications.
The governance change signals Torrent Power’s commitment to sustained financial stewardship as it navigates growth opportunities in the power distribution space. Poddar’s background in large-scale financial planning, performance improvement initiatives, and digital transformation is expected to complement the company’s strategy as it advances its expansion and efficiency programs. Mashruwala will transition out of the CFO role while remaining on the executive team to ensure continuity during the handover.
