In a move aimed at ensuring leadership continuity and strategic focus, SKF India (Industrial) Limited announced that Sujeeth Pai will be elevated from Whole-Time Director to Managing Director, with effect from 1 September 2026, following a recommendation by the Nomination and Remuneration Committee and approval by the Board. The transition comes as Mukund Vasudevan, the current Managing Director, steps down due to an internal role change within the SKF Group. Shareholders’ approval will be sought for the appointment.
Pai will cease to be a Whole-Time Director at the close of business on 31 August 2026 and will assume the office of Managing Director for a five-year term starting 1 September 2026, subject to the necessary shareholder sanction. This move aligns with the company’s succession planning as it navigates growth and operational priorities in India.
Pai’s background includes a Mechanical Engineering degree from P.E.S.LT, Bangalore, and an MBA from ISB, Hyderabad. With about 20 years of multidimensional experience, he has been described as driving growth and profitability through focus on people, partnerships, and customer success, including building proof-of-concepts, providing technical support, and leading P&L across the region. The company notes that Pai is not debarred from holding the office of Director by SEBI or any other authority and is not related to any Directors or KMPs or Promoters of the Company.
The leadership transition underscores SKF India’s emphasis on continuity at the helm as it positions for continued momentum, with the new Managing Director to lead the company into its next phase of growth, subject to shareholder approval and customary compliance.
