Asian Hotels (North) Limited has reappointed Krishna Kumar Acharya as Whole-time Director, designated as Executive Director, for a fresh two-year term starting August 12, 2026. The decision, taken at a board meeting on August 10, 2026, awaits shareholders’ approval within three months. The move reinforces leadership continuity at the Delhi-based hospitality group that owns the Hyatt Regency Delhi.
Acharya brings a long banking career spanning 37 years, with formal education including B.Sc (Hons) and M.Sc (Hons), a Postgraduate Diploma in Industrial Relations and Personal Management, and CATIB from the Indian Institute of Bankers. He has held senior roles including Head of State Level Banker’s Committee (SLBC) for New Delhi and General Manager duties overseeing the Mumbai region and Hyderabad operations, among others, underscoring a track record in credit appraisal, monitoring and operations leadership.
Board-level confidence in Acharya’s appointment comes as the company has pursued a turnaround, with an equity infusion reported earlier that strengthened liquidity and improved its capital structure. The firm has posted signs of improved operating performance and continues to pursue cost optimization and strategic initiatives in a challenging hospitality landscape, including regulatory shifts affecting the sector.
Industry-watchers view the re-appointment as a signal that Asian Hotels (North) is seeking steady governance and focused execution from within its leadership team as it positions Hyatt Regency Delhi for the next phase of growth and resilience in its core business.
