Mahindra Group today announced the appointment of Shveta Arya as Group Chief Strategy Officer, effective September 15, 2026. She will join the Group Executive Board and also form part of the Senior Management of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., steering the Group Strategy Office as it works across the portfolio to identify growth opportunities, unlock value, and secure a long-term strategic edge. Arya will report to Anish Shah, Group CEO & MD, as she leads a central function designed to shape growth across the group.
Arya’s career spans over 23 years across automotive, travel, financial services and telecom, including leadership stints in multinational firms and consulting. In her most recent role as Managing Director of Cummins India Limited, she drove growth, customer success, talent development and an inclusive, ethical culture. Prior roles included Strategy and M&A at Thomas Cook India, with earlier positions at Kearney and Infosys. She holds an MBA from IIMA and a BE in Information Technology from Delhi University.
Her appointment signals Mahindra Group’s intent to intensify its growth engine across diverse businesses and pursue long-term value. Beyond strategy, Arya’s track record in leading change, leadership development, and advocacy for diversity and women’s empowerment — including sponsor work on Cummins’ initiative to empower girls and women in India — resonates with Mahindra’s Rise purpose. As the Group navigates a rapidly evolving business landscape, Arya’s mandate to identify opportunities and shape cross-portfolio initiatives could sharpen the group’s competitive edge.
