In a move that underscores its growth ambition across a diversified portfolio, the Mahindra Group has appointed Shveta Arya as Group Chief Strategy Officer, effective September 15, 2026. She will also form part of the Senior Management of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., joining the leadership ranks that shape strategy across the group.
Arya will lead the Group Strategy Office, working across the Group’s businesses to identify growth opportunities, unlock value and drive long-term strategic advantage. She will sit on the Group Executive Board and report to Anish Shah, Group CEO & MD, Mahindra Group. Arya brings more than two decades of leadership in strategy, M&A and consulting across automotive, travel, financial services and telecom. Her most recent role was Managing Director of Cummins India Limited. Before Cummins, she led Strategy and M&A at Thomas Cook India and held roles at Kearney and Infosys. She holds an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad and a BE in Information Technology from Delhi University.
Arya is also noted for her commitment to constructive change, diversity, inclusion and women’s empowerment—a passion she demonstrated as a sponsor of Cummins’ flagship initiative aimed at creating large-scale impact for girls and women in India. This background aligns with Mahindra’s purpose-driven ethos as it stitches together leadership, culture and strategic execution across its businesses.
