Bharat Bijlee Limited has unveiled a measured leadership shift aimed at sustaining momentum across its magnet technology and projects businesses. In a board decision announced after their August 4 meeting, the company shared that R Rajaraman will retire from the post of Vice President – Magnet Technology Machines Division, effective close of business on August 31, 2026. To ensure a seamless transition and continued focus on performance, Khushru M. Vakharia has been redesignated as Vice President – Magnet Technology Machines Division, with effect from September 1, 2026, while Ashwinikumar V. Sathe has been redesignated as Vice President – Projects Division, effective August 5, 2026. These moves reposition senior leadership to reinforce execution and institutional continuity as the company pursues its growth agenda.
The company’s Nomination and Remuneration Committee and Board expressed sincere appreciation for R Rajaraman’s distinguished services, steadfast dedication, and guidance during his tenure. The retirement marks a natural transition in the Magnet Technology Machines Division, aligning with Bharat Bijlee’s commitment to sustaining momentum in core capabilities while maintaining strong governance through its leadership bench.
Khushru M. Vakharia, 56, a BE Electrical engineer, brings more than three decades of industry experience. His career spans manufacturing, strategic planning, operational procurement, plant engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain management, with notable achievements in motors division modernization and cost optimization. The redesigned role is described as full-time and permanent, positioned to support seamless operations and continuity in the Magnet Technology segment as leadership passes the baton.
Ashwinikumar V. Sathe, 58, holds a BE in Electrical Engineering and an MBA in Marketing. With over 34 years in the industry, he has led marketing, tendering, negotiations, project planning, execution, and collections, delivering cross-functional leadership across the project lifecycle and driving growth and profitability in project-based operations. His appointment as Vice President – Projects Division is also described as full-time and permanent, reflecting Bharat Bijlee’s emphasis on expanding the Projects business and strengthening execution capabilities across critical client programs.
Together, these moves underscore Bharat Bijlee’s intent to deepen executive leadership depth in its magnet technology and project execution engines, even as it reports quarter-end results reflecting substantial segment contributions and a continued path to growth.
