Ganesha Ecosphere appoints Rajiv Kumar Saxena as Independent Director to bolster governance

Ganesha Ecosphere Limited has elevated its governance lens with the appointment of Rajiv Kumar Saxena as an Additional Non-Executive Independent Director, effective August 3, 2026. The move, announced by the board and pending member approval at the ensuing AGM, underscores the company’s intent to bolster independent oversight and strategic governance as it continues to chart its growth trajectory.

Saxena, 60, brings a rich banking pedigree to the boardroom. A postgraduate in Mathematics from the University of Lucknow and a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers, he spent 35 years with State Bank of India, culminating in the role of Chief General Manager at SBI Corporate Centre, Mumbai. His deep expertise spans large corporate credit, MSME financing, high-value portfolio management, and governance and risk frameworks, including credit appraisal, regulatory compliance, and risk validation. Notably, he has steered high-level credit committees and overseen portfolios that crossed the trillion-rupee mark, while also driving digital banking initiatives and cross-sector collaboration with banks, NBFCs, MFIs, and other financial intermediaries.

The appointment signals a strengthening of independent governance at Ganesha Ecosphere, with Saxena confirmed as not related to any director or KMP and deemed independent under applicable standards. As the company positions itself for the next phase of growth, his background in risk management, ESG considerations, and strategic credit decision-making could contribute a seasoned, external perspective to the board’s deliberations and oversight.
