Subhash Subramaniam named Chief Technology Officer at Aditya Birla Capital to steer digital drive

Aditya Birla Capital Limited has appointed Subhash Subramaniam as Chief Technology Officer, effective August 3, 2026, signaling a sharpened emphasis on technology-led growth as the company scales its financial-services footprint. The appointment, approved by the board on July 31, 2026, places Subramaniam at the helm of the tech function at a time when ABCL is investing in digital platforms and enterprise-wide transformation to support its lending, insurance and asset-management businesses.

Subhash Subramaniam brings nearly three decades of experience spanning retail and corporate banking, transformation programs, enterprise risk management and cybersecurity. A seasoned technology executive, he is known for shaping enterprise architecture frameworks, strengthening IT governance and building high-performance engineering teams. In his prior roles, he has worked with ICICI Bank Ltd., National Stock Exchange of India and Sygnet Technologies, underscoring a background that blends financial services with technology execution.

The leadership move aligns with ABCL’s ongoing digital push. The company has emphasized strengthening its digital platforms to enable seamless customer onboarding and service delivery. Its consumer-facing D2C platform ABCD has attracted about 1.2 crore customer acquisitions as of June 30, 2026, while the MSME-focused Udyog Plus platform has seen over 24 lakh registrations and an AUM of ₹6,229 crore. Subramaniam’s mandate will likely center on accelerating technology modernization, cyber resilience and scalable architecture to sustain growth across ABCL’s NBFC, life and health insurance, and asset-management businesses.

As ABCL positions itself for the next wave of expansion, the CTO’s role is expected to be pivotal in translating strategy into a robust technology backbone that can support rapid lending growth, product innovation and a fortified cybersecurity posture in a rapidly evolving fintech landscape.
