V-Guard appoints Mithun K Chittilappilly as Chairperson of the Board, effective Sept 27, 2026

V-Guard Industries Limited is signaling a shift at the top with the appointment of Mithun K Chittilappilly as Chairperson of the Board, effective September 27, 2026, as Radha Unni’s term as Chairperson and Independent Director comes to a close on September 26, 2026. The move keeps an internal leadership hand at the helm, underscoring continuity in strategy as the company navigates a period of expansion and transformation.

Mithun K Chittilappilly has long been the driving force behind V-Guard’s growth. A commerce graduate with an MBA from the University of Melbourne, he joined V-Guard in 2004 and was appointed Executive Director in 2006, rising to Managing Director in 2012. The profile highlights his role in expanding the footprint beyond South India into a pan-India presence, broadening the product portfolio to include kitchen appliances, modular switches, switchgear, solar inverters, air coolers, and more, while steering a brand refresh and heightened marketing focus. Under his leadership the company’s revenue and market capitalization have grown multifold.

The appointment as Chairperson comes at a time when the board is also guiding a broader governance and strategic agenda. The group has signaled plans to merge Sunflame Enterprises Private Limited with V-Guard, a move aimed at harnessing synergies across brands and product lines. With a leader whose background spans operations, branding and manufacturing expansion, the board aims to sharpen execution on growth initiatives across electronics, electricals, consumer durables, and Sunflame-branded offerings.

Beyond governance, the transition speaks to a continuity-driven growth narrative that has underpinned V-Guard’s trajectory. Elevating a long-tenured executive to the board’s top seat signals stability as the company pursues product diversification, market expansion, and the next phase of growth from its Kochi base.
