In a decisive leadership move, Shipping Corporation of India Land and Assets Limited (SCILAL) has appointed Nitin Khamesra as Executive Director, effective March 11, 2026. The company disclosed that this appointment comes amid a broader financial stewardship push, with the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways sanctioning the entrustment of the additional charge of Director (Finance) at SCILAL to Khamesra from March 11, 2026 to December 31, 2026 (or until further orders), subject to the approvals of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
Khamesra brings more than 28 years of financial leadership to SCILAL. He is currently serving as Director (Finance) at The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd (SCI) since February 23, 2026. His career spans senior roles in IOCL, where he held pivotal responsibilities across shipping, refineries, international trade and treasury operations, and managed large-scale finance and chartering functions. A Chartered Accountant and Cost Accountant with a background in Computer Science, Khamesra has been credited with driving strategic financial and digital transformation, risk management, and governance enhancements across his previous assignments.
The move accompanies a parallel reshuffle at SCILAL: Som Raj ceases to hold the post of Director (Operations) as Khamesra assumes the expanded charge, marking a sharpening of the company’s finance leadership. The development underscores SCILAL’s focus on strengthening financial governance and strategic execution as it navigates the complex waters of maritime logistics and asset management.
Together, the appointments signal SCILAL’s intent to anchor future growth with seasoned financial stewardship at the helm, leveragingKhamesra’s background in maritime economics, chartering policy, and digital control frameworks to support long-term strategy and value creation for the company.
