La Opala RG Limited India Prepares Board-level Independence While Elevating In-House Growth Leadership

La Opala RG Limited has signaled a dual-pronged leadership refresh, pairing a fresh boardroom appointment with an internal elevation aimed at sharpening its business development engine. In a board meeting held on July 8, 2026, the company disclosed the appointment of a non-executive independent director and, separately, an internal designation change that places a long-tenured executive more firmly at the helm of growth initiatives.

First, the board approved the appointment of Saradindu Dutta as an Additional Director designated as a Non-Executive Independent Director for a five-year term, subject to shareholders’ approval at the forthcoming 39th Annual General Meeting. Dutta brings a distinguished, multi-decade track record with ITC Limited across finance and corporate governance, including leadership roles in corporate accounts and sustainability initiatives, along with governance involvement in industry bodies. His addition underscores La Opala RG Limited’s emphasis on established oversight and independent perspective at the board level.

Separately, the company approved a change in designation for Abhyuday Jhunjhunwala—from General Manager, Business Development—to Vice President, Business Development, designating him as Senior Management Personnel and thereby an office or place of profit within the company. Jhunjhunwala, who has been with La Opala since completing an internship and then advancing to General Manager in March 2024, is credited with advancing the group’s marketing and digital initiatives and closely supporting strategic and operational execution alongside the senior management team. His profile includes a Bachelor’s degree in Operations and Business Analytics from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business and active involvement in entrepreneurial networks.
