Zydus Wellness Limited has tapped Dr. Shyam Ramakrishnan to lead its scientific agenda as the new Chief Scientific Officer, a senior-management role that will take effect from July 1, 2026. The appointment underscores the company’s push to deepen its scientific rigor and translate research into product innovations across its wellness portfolio.
Dr. Ramakrishnan brings more than two decades of experience across nutrition, dietary supplements, beauty, personal care and functional foods. He holds a PhD in Biological Chemistry & Genetics from the University of Texas and has completed postdoctoral fellowships at Harvard Medical School and Hoffmann-La Roche. His career spans leadership roles in late-stage translational science, clinical research, bioinformatics and platform development, with a track record of steering large cross-functional teams across the United States, India, Southeast Asia and other international markets. Notably, he has held senior positions with organizations including Hill’s Pet Nutrition, The Himalaya Drug Company, ITC Ltd. and Amway (United States, Southeast Asia & Brazil).
The appointment to the senior management tier signals Zydus Wellness’s intent to fortify its R&D capabilities and elevate its science-driven approach to product development.
