Awfis Space Solutions Limited has named Abhishek Poddar as a Non-Executive Independent Director, with effect from July 1, 2026, for a five-year term ending on June 30, 2031, subject to shareholder approval. The appointment comes as the company continues to strengthen its governance framework while pursuing its growth agenda on the back of a dynamic market for flexible workspace.
Poddar, aged about 59, is an industrialist and philanthropist who currently serves as the Managing Director of M B Group, with interests spanning manufacturing, trading of tea, and manufacturing of industrial explosives. He is also the Founder-Trustee of the Museum of Art & Photography (MAP), Bengaluru, a unit of the Art & Photography Foundation. His educational path includes The Doon School, Dehradun, and a commerce degree from St Xaviers – Calcutta University.
The board believes his diverse experience across finance, administration, human resources and general management will bring a broad governance perspective. As a Non-Executive Independent Director, Poddar’s appointment signals Awfis’s emphasis on strengthening independent oversight and strategic guidance as it navigates scale and industry shifts.
