BDL names Director (Technical) as interim CMD after retirement of A. Madhavarao

Bharat Dynamics Limited, the Hyderabad-based defence PSU under the Ministry of Defence, is navigating a leadership transition after the superannuation of its Chairman and Managing Director. The company confirms that A. Madhavarao’s tenure as CMD has ended with his retirement effective 30 April 2026, marking the end of an era for the order-driven enterprise that supplies systems for India’s defence posture. In a move designed to ensure continuity, the Ministry of Defence has assigned the post of Chairman and Managing Director to D. V. Srinivas Rao, Director (Technical), for a period of three months—from 1 May 2026 to 31 July 2026—or until a regular incumbent assumes charge, whichever comes first.
