Avantel Limited is reshaping its board with the appointment of two new Non-Executive Independent Directors, signaling a strengthened governance stance as the company pursues its growth agenda. The Board, at its meeting on April 26, 2026, approved the appointments of Dr. Tamilmani Kandasamy and Lakshminarasimha Acharyulu Muktevi for five-year terms, from April 26, 2026 to April 25, 2031, subject to member approval. Both appointments are non-executive and independent, underscoring Avantel’s emphasis on independent oversight.
Dr. Tamilmani Kandasamy brings four decades of defence and aerospace leadership, including a tenure as Director General (Aeronautics) at DRDO, where he spearheaded indigenous programs and airworthiness initiatives. His track record spans large-scale program leadership, certification ecosystems, and panels that advanced India’s private-sector participation in defence. Muktevi, 68, is a seasoned corporate management professional with extensive experience across infrastructure, manufacturing, financial services, and semiconductor sectors. His leadership roles include CEO & Executive Director at Karaikal Port, MD at Sentini Sanitary and Qualcore Logic, and senior positions at Conexant Systems India, Crompton Greaves, SICOM, and Godavari Fertilizers and Chemicals.
In parallel with the new director appointments, Avantel announced a reconstitution of key board committees—the Audit Committee, Nomination & Remuneration Committee, Stakeholders Relationship Committee, and Corporate Social Responsibility Committee. The updates align governance structures with the company’s growth trajectory and leverage the expertise of its independent directors. Notably, the Audit Committee is led by Vyasabhattu Ramchander, while the Nomination & Remuneration and Stakeholders Relationship Committees are chaired by Myneni Narayana Rao, with Ramchander Vyasabhattu chairing the CSR Committee. Multiple independent directors continue to contribute across committees, reinforcing a cohesive board oversight framework.
Together, the board moves place Avantel on a firmer governance footing, aiming to balance strategic execution with robust oversight as it navigates competitive markets. The appointments reflect a deliberate strategy to leverage seasoned governance experience from both aerospace and corporate sectors, reinforcing the company’s commitment to transparent leadership and sustainable growth.
