Ashiana Housing Names Vikas Choudhury as Independent Director After Shareholder Approval

Ashiana Housing Limited has regularised Vikas Choudhury as an Independent Director, following shareholder approval at the company’s 1st Extraordinary General Meeting for FY 2026-27 held on 22 April 2026. The appointment comes after Choudhury was initially named a Non-Executive Additional Director on 10 February 2026, and his tenure has been formalised for a term of three years, with remuneration of INR 8 lakhs per annum, or until the third Annual General Meeting, whichever comes earlier.

Choudhury brings a formidable track record in growth and governance. He is the Founder and Managing Partner of Playbook Partners, a platform aimed at operator-driven growth and digital transformation in India. His career includes leadership roles with Reliance Jio’s digital platform business and with Aimia Inc., as well as entrepreneurial ventures such as a Tata group JV in e-commerce. He has invested in more than 75 companies, including notable names like InMobi, Myntra, Fractal, and PolicyBazaar, and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School along with ties to the Harvard Alumni network and YPO.

This move underscores Ashiana’s emphasis on strengthening board stewardship with independent experience across technology, consumer, and growth-stage ecosystems. By adding an external perspective from a seasoned operator and investor, the company signals its intent to couple governance discipline with a broader strategic lens as it navigates its growth trajectory.
