Bharat Dynamics Limited, the Hyderabad-based defence PSU under the Ministry of Defence, has announced a leadership transition on its board. Independent director Chetan Bansilal Kankariya has ceased to hold his office with effect from February 22, 2026, upon completing his tenure as per the terms of his appointment.
Kankariya served as a part-time non-official independent director, contributing to the board’s deliberations during his tenure. The company notes that his tenure ended in line with the appointment arrangement dated 22.04.2025, marking the end of his formal role on the board.
The departure removes an independent voice from the helm of Bharat Dynamics’ governance. As the company looks to fill the vacancy, observers will be watching how the board recalibrates its mix of expertise and oversight to continue steering the organization through its defence-related projects and strategy commitments.
Bharat Dynamics continues to navigate the complex landscape of defence technology and manufacturing, with governance and leadership changes underscoring its ongoing evolution as a government-backed enterprise in the sector.
