Raj Kokil Singh Named Chief Risk Officer at Central Bank of India

The Central Bank of India has announced the appointment of Raj Kokil Singh as Chief Risk Officer, effective 20 April 2026, for a fixed three-year tenure. He will take over the risk helm from Dr. G. Bhaskar, who previously carried the treasury portfolio, marking an internal leadership transition within the bank’s risk function.

Singh, 44, joined the bank in 2012 and brings a blend of technical credentials with hands-on banking experience. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Science and a Master’s in Business Administration, and is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF). He is also a Financial Risk Manager (FRM) and has Sustainability & Climate Risk (SCR) certification from Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP). Over his 19-year career, he has held roles across risk management, credit, treasury mid-office, asset-liability management (ALM), and general banking, including a stint as Deputy Zonal Head for the Kolkata Zone at another bank.

The appointment signals a continued emphasis on strengthening risk oversight at the bank. With a background that spans risk governance, market and credit risk, and climate-related risk considerations, Singh is poised to drive the bank’s risk framework through a three-year tenure, as the institution navigates evolving financial and regulatory landscapes.
